10. If you wish to know who you [truly] are, do not measure yourself against who you were, but rather [against] what you have come to be since the beginning. |
10. [58] Ὅταν θέλῃς σαυτὸν γνῶναι τίς εἶ, μὴ συγκρίνῃς τίς ἦς, ἀλλὰ τί γέγονας ἐξ ἀρχῆς. |

The proud soul - an inn of thieves - |

13. For a true man it is an evil deviation not to know the Scriptures. |
13. [61] Ἀληθοῦς ἀνδρὸς πλάνη κακὴ τὸ μὴ εἰδέναι τὰς Γραφάς. |

If you fear God |

17. Jesus Christ is the tree of life: (cf. Pr 3.18) Consult him as is proper and you will not ever die. |

18. The one beneficent towards the truly poor also eats of Christ. |

19. True strength - eating the body of Christ. |
19. [67] Ῥώμη ἀληθὴς τὸ τοῦ Χριστοῦ σῶμα ἐσθίειν. |

20. If you love Christ, you will keep his commandments without forgetting. (cf. Jn 14.15) |

21. From their place the beneficent, who are like God, shine forth. |
21.ἐκεῖθεν γὰρ ἀναφαίνεται εὐεργέτης μετὰ θεόν. |

22. The friend in accordance with God - like milk and honey (cf. Ex 3:8, Nu 13:27) flow [his] true words. |
