OUR exploration will now focus on four groups of biblical terms, which we will consider from the perspective of their use in the Scriptures, and to a lesser extent in classical philosophy:

TEACHER, διδάσκαλος / didaskalos ; or  רַבִּי  ῥαββί / rabbi.

DISCIPLE, μαθητής / mathētēs ; or  תַּלְמִיד / talmid.

INSTRUCTOR/INSTRUCTION, παιδευτή / paideutē,  παιδεία / paideia.

ADVOCATE / CONSOLATION, παράκλητος / paraklētos.

INTERPRET, ἑρμηνεύω / hermēneuō. 

SIGNIFY, σημαίνω / sēmainō. 

SHEPHERD, ποιμήν / poimēn.

GUIDE, ὁδηγός / hodēgos.

ANGEL, ἄγγελος  / angelos.

HEALER, ἰατρός / iatros.

TRANSFORMATION, μεταμορφωσις / metamorphōsis.

RENEWAL , ἀνακαίνωαις / anakainōsis.

RESTORATION, ἀποκατάστασις / apokatastasis.
